Explain the basics of this system that protects intellectual property and the physical products from these ideas.
The main concept behind a copyright is that it protects your work. The concept behind the material can be copied and used but it cannot be presented the same way. For example, if you have a song about love someone can write a song about love as well but it cant have the same lyrics. If the person want to use someone else's original work it cant be used without permission only if the owner says it is okay to do so. In the United States the copy-right protects the work for about 70 years unless it is renewed with added information. When someone first invents a device the first thing they should do is patent it. This is the governments form of giving ownership of the invention to the person. For some time the person is allowed to control how their inventions are used and work. This can only be used toward things that haven't been invented yet, such as machines, programs and designs. Scientist cant patent a new found plant or animal but can patent one that was genetically made.
